Focus: HOPE Conference Center
Detroit, MI 48238
This year we celebrate the 5th year of the annual Detroit Food Summit, and new collaborations in addressing the needs of the Detroit food system on a local, regional, national and international level. Detroit Food 2015 is hosted by the Detroit Food Policy Council and the Detroit Food and Fitness Collaborative.
Detroit Food 2015 will emphasize reclaiming the food system for the betterment of the city’s citizens, redefining our needs and rebuilding our food system so that it works for all in the short, near and long terms. The first day of the summit will consist of a collaborative gathering focused on providing training to community leaders to maximize their ability to advocate for a sustainable local food system, and strengthen the network of communities advocating for community food security in Detroit.
The second and third day of Detroit Food 2015 will host a community gathering that will provide education, networking and food policy advocacy opportunities. The conference will consist of workshops, panel discussions, keynote address, youth track, presentations from DFPC members, resource fair, and a celebration of local food.
The registration fee is $150 for all three days; $50 for Day 2, Day 3 or both; and $50 for youth. Scholarships are available for students and others who might not otherwise have the financial means to attend. Registration and scholarship requests will be available on our website March 3.
