Detroit Food 2018 will be the 8th annual Detroit Food Summit held by DFPC. DFPC hosts this annual conference to increase awareness about our food system, and develop strategies for building a healthier food system in Detroit. Detroit Food brings together community members, food industry workers, advocates, researchers and policy makers.
Become a Sponsor
Businesses looking for creative and engaging ways to make a difference in the lives of Detroit community members are invited to partners with DFPC (Detroit Food Policy Council) to create a powerful community impact. Sponsors are invited to participle in Detroit Food 2018 to help to provide community education and raise awareness about the local food system.
Propose a Workshop
We invite individuals, businesses, organizations and institutions to propose breakout sessions for Detroit Food 2018. Workshops and presentations will be held on both days of the summit. Proposals for poster presentations are also being accepted.
Proposals should be submitted by Midnight, Monday, January 8, 2018. Chosen workshops and posters will receive one (1) complimentary Standard Summit Registration per presenter, per session, to account for multiple presenters on panels, which includes all conference materials and meals.
Workshops must be at least, 50 minutes long and, no more than 55 minutes long.
Note: Selected workshop presenters agree to help with conference publicity on at least two occasions well in advance of the conference. Sample announcements for various media (such as Facebook and Twitter posts) will be available for your use.
We request that your proposals reflect the theme of the summit, which is: “It Takes a Village: Reclaiming Our Power in the Food System.” Your proposal should address one of the following areas of content: Policy, Economics, Health, Food Access, Culture, or Sustainability. Your workshop or poster presentation should answer one of the following questions:
How is the food system being changed?
How is the way our community interacts with the food system being changed?
How is the food system changing the city or other systems?

Workshop Proposals are due by midnight on Monday, January 8.
Ad space is availabe in the program book for Detroit Food 2018. To purchase an ad submit the Program Book Ad Reservation Form and a high-resolution press-quality PDF, send to email@example.com with the subject line: Program Book Ad. Program book ads must be submitted by January 27, 2018 in order to be included in the Detroit Food 2018 program book. Registration for Detroit Food 2018 will open January 24.
